"If you don't have time for your health, soon you'll have to make time for illness." We live in a busy world and it can feel like healthy eating simply can't get a look in because of everything else that has to get done. So, without wasting any time, here are five simple ideas to help you stay on track with your food as much as possible, even when life gets hectic... 1. Plan Ahead & Prep What You NeedWeekly/daily food planning is a great tool to help busy people stay on track. This way crazy days can be planned for, meaning you're more likely to eat well as opposed to running out of time and grabbing what's convenient (but perhaps less nutritious). Tupperware is your friend. Meal Planning: Why and How 2. Make More Than You NeedWhen you do have the time to cook a healthy meal, take full advantage of it. Make more than you need (it shouldn't take much longer) and then portion it up and whack it in the freezer to get out and reheat quickly when cooking just isn't an option. Or leave a couple of portions in the fridge for packed lunches later in the week. Planning helps with this too. 3. Cook From FrozenFollowing on from tip two, don't forget to use your freezer. Have a few pre-made meals in there, along with other foods which can be super quick to get sorted and on the table. Pre-chopped frozen veg and fish that can be cooked from frozen is great when you realise there's nothing easy to rustle up in the fridge (because sometimes even the best food-plans go to pot...). Easy peasy. 4. Get A Go-To ListHaving a go-to list of quick, easy & nutritious breakfasts, lunches, dinners & snacks is great to fall back on when your week gets a bit manic. Having the list to hand means you have one less thing to think about, which is always a relief! For plenty of ideas, check out Quick & Easy Meal Ideas and Tips To Prevent Last Minute Panic 5. Use Recipes Which Cook ThemselvesBecause if the food is cooking away, you can use the free time to get other important stuff done. Think oven-cooked meals, one-tray bakes & slow-cooker loveliness.
